Welcome
Natural history collections are preserved, documented, and curated assemblages of specimens and organisms that are important to a wide array of human activities. They are essential to the management of natural resources in that they document the diversity and biology of organisms that impact agriculture, urban and other rural activities, and health, and they characterize the ecosystems on which we all depend. They are a resource for many fields of biological research. The presence and growth of natural history collections at Angelo State University are important to the University, San Angelo, and the Concho Valley in that they constitute a readily available local resource for the region.
